ABOUT
Kemkes is a sustainable luxury streetwear brand that combines the love for ornamental and manipulated fabrics with modern-day sportswear and streetwear silhouettes by creating unique menswear from secondhand home textiles like quilted blankets, jacquard curtains or knitted sofa covers.
The whole process, from beginning to end, takes place in Amsterdam. The materials are locally sourced and selected and after being carefully restored they are being made into garments at an atelier in Amsterdam by permit holders. All garments are tailor-made and one of a kind. Kemkes would like to show that working sustainably does not have to be difficult and can only make fashion more beautiful.

PRESS HIGHLIGHTS
Kemkes started with “A Bed Collection”, a whole collection made from secondhand bedding materials. “A Bed Collection” got well received and the full collection got its own exposition at the Fashion for Good Museum in Amsterdam, which is the sustainable fashion museum of Europe. The collection got featured in Magazines like Vogue and Elle and interviews appeared in Dutch newspapers. Besides the traditional press, Kemkes has been worn by different music artist like Rimon. In this way we can show a new young audience how beautiful sustainability can be.
